Education in Memoirs

Though the field of education is comprised of a number of subfields, as a whole, it produces knowledge concerning the process of human learning and implements practices based on this knowledge. The personal memories of the subjects themselves who conduct studies on education as well as of those of others (particularly, those in written form) that can be accessed by a variety of methods and tools provide extremely important material that can be exploited as resources. This material not only may serve as a source on its own or in itself, but it may also be utilized as an auxiliary source for comparison with other data or as supporting evidence. The present article treats certain aspects of school memories and, in addition, touches on the different kinds of memories, on the historical background of schools, and student yearbooks. Appended to the article is an annotated bibliography of some texts of memories pertaining to schooldays and citations of some student yearbooks.
