A Hundred Years Sociological Accumulation
This article aims to focus on two points. First, apart from exceptional cases, the Turkish sociologists have opted for translating the works of Western sociologists into Turkish. Second, a significant portion of our sociologists have not been fully aware of the meaning of studying sociology in Turkey. In this context, issues such as the relations between sociology-history and the uniqueness of Turkish society for the past hundred year history of Turkish sociology have been discussed in the light of the works of sociologists such as Gökalp, Prens Sabahattin, Berkes, Boran, Ergun and Sezer.
