Prof. Ali Tanoğlu's Studies on Population Geography

Abstract

Prof. Ali Tanoğlu has contributed greatly to the development of geography as a science in Turkey through his studies on human geography. This study introduces four of his articles as well as a book chapter on population geography.

These studies constitute the main sources for research in population geography with a focus on the factors that determine the distribution of humans over space. As such, Tanoğlu's geographical point of view, his analytical methods and interpretations have been pointed out in this study.
