Studies on Old Turkish Literature

This article consists of two parts that refer to certain numbers of works, which have been done on the classical Ottoman poetry in Germany since 19th Century. The three bibliographical studies analyzed in the first part focused mainly on the place of studies of the classical Ottoman poetry among the Orientalists, Ottoman and Turcology scholars from 1968 to 1997. The second part deals with the five works which can show us the process of the studies of that poetic tradition from the beginning of the 1900s to the 2000s, with regard to methodologies they used and originality they had.
