Turkology Center of Turkey: Istanbul University Turkish Language and Literature Department

In this article, a brief history of department Turkish Language and Literature of Faculty of Letters of İstanbul University has been given. From “Darülfünun” to 1933, when the department was re-constituted in accordance with the Republican transformation, and then to present times, the development of the scientific fields and activities within the university are handled.
