Of these, books of special importance are also reviewed separately. The fiqh texts that were inherited are classified into six groups, namely usûl-i fiqh, furû-i fiqh, ilmihâl, ferâiz, fetvâ and hilaf. This paper gives also room to studies of the Ottoman scholars on these fiqh texts. On the other hand, the fiqh books written by the Ottoman scholars were mainly in the forms of metin (plain text), şerh, hâşiye, muhtasar, risâle, reddiye, tekmile and translation. These books were grouped under the following five headings: usûl-i fiqh, furû-i fiqh, ilmihal, fetva and public law.
