Tavâliu'l-Envâr Literature in the Ottoman Times

For a long time, Tawâli al-Anwar has retained its position as the most concise work representing philosophical theology in the Ottoman scholarly tradition. The author, Baydawi has benefited from the findings in works of philosophical theology in the process of compiling his work. He has summarized accumulated information in this field and presented it for the use of scholars. This work aims to briefly introduce Tavâli al-Anwar and to show its indispensable status in the Ottoman scholarly circles.
