The First Urbanism Journal of Istanbul
T. C. İstanbul Şehremaneti Mecmuası is the first municipality journal of Istanbul. It contains a lot of writings and documents on the social history of Istanbul. Through the articles placed in the journal, it possible to access information on a variety of topics including the urban practices of the Republican period, the social life of Istanbul, public health, demographic and economic situation, the municipal activities of both Europe and the world, problems in some municipalities in Anatolia, many statistical data on different issues, and documents about Istanbul. Furthermore, the municipality legislation, issues on housing and reconstruction, news about the city and a variety of photos offered in every issue of the journal present plenty of material on the Ottoman modernization, urbanism and city planning activities of the early Republic. This article will offer some brief information about the journal and then an index of the journal will be presented for the researchers of Istanbul history
